Lebanon Situation Brief – 12 March 2026
As the escalation in Lebanon continues, the humanitarian impact is rapidly intensifying. More than 700,000 people are now displaced across the country, many arriving at shelters with very limited belongings and facing urgent needs for food, basic items, and safe accommodation.
Our teams at Basmeh & Zeitooneh are witnessing firsthand the immense pressure placed on shelters and humanitarian systems as displacement continues to rise. Despite increasingly volatile conditions, frontline staff and local responders remain committed to supporting affected communities.
At this critical moment, strengthening direct and flexible support to local and frontline organizations is essential to ensure an effective and timely response.
Key priorities include:
- Expanding emergency assistance for displaced families.
- Supporting shelters and host communities under growing strain.
- Reinforcing the protection of civilians and humanitarian workers.
- Ensuring a principled and sustained humanitarian response.
We welcome continued engagement and collaboration with partners committed to supporting communities affected by the crisis in Lebanon.
