Lebanon | Situation Brief (1): Refugees During the Latest War in Lebanon

The latest escalation in Lebanon has triggered rapid displacement across the country, with tens of thousands of people forced to flee their homes in just days.

While humanitarian attention has largely focused on internal displacement among Lebanese communities, another dimension of the crisis remains insufficiently documented: the situation of refugee populations living in the affected regions.

More than half a million individuals were living in areas directly impacted by airstrikes or displacement warnings, yet limited information is currently available about how these communities are navigating the crisis. Many are moving informally between settlements, relying on community networks, or returning to their countries of origin under conditions of uncertainty and pressure.

Understanding these displacement patterns is essential to ensure that humanitarian responses remain inclusive and responsive to all affected communities.

Our latest brief highlights emerging field insights and key dynamics shaping the situation.
