We are pleased to share an initial study by Basmeh & Zeitooneh’s Research Team on governance experiences in Syria across Idlib, Aleppo, Damascus, and Rural Damascus.
Based on qualitative field research, including focus group discussions and key informant interviews, this first-phase assessment documents how communities describe administrative practices, service access, participation channels, and local problem-solving mechanisms. It highlights regional variation and the interaction between formal institutions and community-based structures.
The report is intended to contribute field-based evidence to ongoing practitioner and research discussions.
