Our Reports
The Syrian refugee crisis persists as the world's second-largest, with 6.8 million refugees residing outside Syria's borders. Lebanon, a neighboring country, has been disproportionately impacted, facing economic, health, and political crises. Conditions for a safe return to Syria are absent, yet there is growing pressure on refugees to go back. Harmful practices, like pushbacks and inadequate protection, are increasing. Despite deteriorating conditions, spontaneous returns remain low, accounting for less than 1% of Syrian refugees in host countries. Only 1.7% of displaced Syrians in Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, and Egypt express an intention to return within the next year.
